Minutes of Guilford PTA Annual Meeting-- June 5, 2009
The Annual Meeting of the Guilford PTA was held at Dan and Dede Colcord’s home. The meeting was opened at 8:05 pm. by President Lisa Fiala, who thanked the committee chairs and other board members for all of their work this past year. Secretary Allison Maltese thanked Lisa Fiala for her service and for her role in founding the GPTA.

The slate of officers for the 2009-2010 year was presented and voted in. The new board is as follows:

Co-Presidents: Kim Beckett and Jennifer Ryan
Vice President & Secretary:  Amanda Sweeney
Treasurer: Melissa Lamoreaux

The new board will be planning meetings differently, with fewer meetings, and they will be held during the day. The new board takes effect on July 1.

The treasurer’s report was given. There is $929.93 in the main GPTA account and $1,157.71 in the Destination Imagination account to total $2,087.64

Allison Maltese was honored as an "Exceptional GPTA Volunteer” and received a plaque for her service.

Lisa Fiala, outgoing President, commented on areas of work that still need attention: recess at Baldwin, facilities, bullying, Non-partisan BOEs, and parental involvement. In addition, the BOE Candidates Forum will be held again this year in the fall, and the GPTA will continue sponsorship of the Reflections Arts Program, Destination Imagination and Junior Achievement.
